A Few Figures

The Lycée Français du Cap counts currently has a total of 330 students. This significant growth is due to the relocation of the primary school on the Sea Point campus, as well as the increased awareness in Cape Town of the school’s educational ethos, its dual (French-English) education system, the quality of teaching and the values of open-mindedness and diversity.

Our students

The Lycée offers a real international environment where students of all nationalities interact with each other and develop friendships in a spirit of openness and tolerance. While the French language and culture are essentials, we also have close connections with our host country, South Africa.

Our teachers

The teaching team is composed of educators from different backgrounds: certified French teachers, most of whom already have a solid experience of teaching abroad, French-speaking teachers from various regions of Africa, but also South African teachers who enrich the curriculum of our school.

With a ratio of 1 teacher for 22 pupils on average in primary school (including pre-primary school) with 10 pre-primary school assistants, the school can provide close attention to each pupil. Remedial classes are offered to some students to help them catch up.

Our team is proud to see the efficiency of its teaching reflected in high success rates in the French Baccalaureate degree (“Baccalauréat”), the National Diploma (“diplôme national du brevet” or DNB) and the Cambridge certificate.

Baccalaureate degree results, June 2021:

100% success!

Our final year students, most of whom have studied all their school life at the Lycée Français du Cap, achieved their 2021 Bachelor’s exams with great success .

The results of the National Diploma (for students in grade 9) were also excellent.
