After-school care

After-School Care is available to our Pre- and Primary School learners on our Seapoint campus.

The school offers services of  homework supervision and after-school care. These services are charged per child and per period of 6 weeks.

The After-school care (“la garderie”) is open Monday-Thursday from  3:30 pm to 5.30 pm and Fridays from 12:45 pm to 3:45 pm. The children play freely in the courtyards under adult supervision. The Pre-Primary school learners and the Primary school learners each have their own courtyard. They can also participate in Extramural activities (please see page on Extramurals).

From Primary School (CP = Grade 1), the children can also freely go to the library and work, read, play quiet games, dream, rest, or “research”.

Supervised homework

The supervised homework is for the students from grade 1 to 5 (CP to CM2). The aim is to allow your children to do their homework under the supervision of a teacher so that they can receive help if they are not native speakers or if they experience difficulties.

Supervised homework sessions take place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3.30 pm to 4:30 pm and on Friday from 1 pm to 2 pm.

The service is charged per child and per family per period (of 6 weeks), separately from After-school care fees.

To enroll your child in the After-school care and/or the Supervised homework, please contact the Primary School reception: ecole@efdc.co.za

NB: Parents must sign the register when fetching their children, whether it is directly after class, or after supervised homework, Extramural activity, or during After-school care hours.

Parents fetching their children late from the After-school care will be charged a R 100 fee every 15 minutes.

The Library

The pupils (from grade 1) are welcome to go to the library to do some work, reading or “research” from Monday to Thursday from noon to 1 pm and from 3.15 pm to 5 pm and on Friday from 12.30 pm to 3:30 pm.
